Rigby, Two-Time Champion Auctioneer
PRI Founder
and Chairman
A
Two-Time Champion Auctioneer, Brian Rigby has been serving the Auction
and Equine Industries professionally for over thirty years. He attended
Missouri Auction School in 1981 and has successfully conducted auctions
in 22 states, as well as in Canada and Europe. His professional auction
company, Brian Rigby Auctioneers, sells Real Estate, Personal Property,
Farms, Business Liquidations, Antiques, Purebred Livestock, Machinery,
and Charities. Brian has been Auctioneer, Announcer, or Sale Manager
at many of the nation's major Equestrian Events managing a variety
of Equine Sales since 1981.
Brian
Rigby was former Associate Director of Advertising for The Quarter
Horse Journal in Amarillo, Texas where he traveled for the Journal
and learned from the best Equine Auctioneers and Ringmen in the industry.
After his first few sales, working with the Professional Ringmen who
represented the Quarter Horse Journal, Brian realized that there was
a huge difference between a Ringman and a bidspotter and he quickly
recognized the contributions and value of a true Professional. A few
of the sales his company has managed include the IBHA World Sales,
the American Royal Select Sales, Midway Horse Sales, The UMC Production
Sales, and numerous production sales and dispersals. Brian was also
on the auction team with Vessels Stallion Farm in Bonsall, California
where they set a record that still stands by selling a Race Bred Quarter
Horse yearling for a an all time high of $750,000.
At
one time during his career, Rigby was selling over 300 auctions per
year, and still sells in excess of 200 auctions yearly. Brian recalls
a very special day in his auction career when he won his first championship
auctioneer title, as well as met his mentor, Leroy Van Dyke. Brian
and his family reside only minutes from Springfield, Missouri where
they enjoy the rural life in the beautiful Southern Missouri Ozarks.
Brian and every PRI Trainer will share a tremendous amount of knowledge with
PRI Candidates including the proper 'sequence for success'.
